Summary of Position

Regional chair are committed to identifying and conducting outreach to APIDA alumni, parents, and friends of the University who are living and/or working within their regions; organizing a range of programs and activities (e.g., social, cultural, academic, athletic, career networking and/or community service events) to engage CAAA members within their regions; and collaborating with other regional Cornell organizations. The chair will maintain a local programming committee of volunteers, and provide guidance on how to effectively engage regional constituents to support the expansion of the Association.

They will oversee CAAA programs and activities within the region and the implementation of other chapter actions and goals; recruit CAAA members; and report to the board at its monthly meetings. Schedule and preside over meetings of regional planning committee; prepare agendas and provide minutes to the executive board for those meetings; oversee CAAA programs and activities within the region and the implementation of other chapter actions and goals; delegate tasks to chapter members and supervise them in the performance of their respective duties.

Prerequisites Current or prior leadership/experience in an alumni organization and/or nonprofit setting preferred but not required. Current or prior leadership/experience with a Cornell organization preferred but not required. Current or prior experience in event execution and management preferred but not required
