Summary of Position

The Vice President for Communications shall coordinate and, as necessary, author Association efforts to engage association members, supporters, partners, and sponsors through email and social media to engage our national and international CAAA and Cornell community. The Vice President of Communications is responsible for maintaining and managing the Association's communications through the University iModules platform and shall keep all social media channels current. The Vice President of Communications shall develop various communication strategies to sustain a solid online presence for the Association and leverage CAAA social media to efficiently share news and activities related to the Association and the broader Cornell community.

The Vice President of Communications shall collaborate with CAAA board members and committee members to plan and develop communications and public relations strategies to promote CAAA and University events and activities.The VP of Communication shall be accessible and willing to advise committee members on the most effective strategies and practices to publicize CAAA key events, like the Pan Asian Banquet, Diwali, and Reunion, through conference calls when needed.

The Vice President of Communications is responsible for establishing, supervising, and maintaining all communication aspects of the association, such as newsletters, directories, websites, and social media platforms. The VP of Communications, in conjunction with the VP of Community Engagement, shall ensure timely addition and maintenance of the CAAA listserv.

Prerequisites Current or prior leadership/experience in an alumni organization and/or nonprofit setting preferred but not required. Current or prior leadership/experience with a Cornell organization preferred but not required. Current or prior experience in event execution and management preferred but not required
